The KTM Duke 250 features a 248.8cc, water-cooled, single-cylinder engine. This motor outputs a max. power of 31 BHP at 9,000 RPM and a peak torque of 24 Nm at 7,250 rpm. The engine boasts a DOHC layout and ultra hard, carbon-coated cam followers. Duke 250 has been built around a lightweight tubular trellis frame. Transmission duties are performed by a 6-speed manual gearbox that comes with a slipper clutch. The bike does not get ABS, which a lot of underpriced bikes also feature nowadays.

The new generation Dukes look a lot more modern, and this one impresses like the other two low displacements Duke models. Unlike the Duke 390, the 250 doesn’t come with a TFT speedo console. Currently, the bike faces competition from DSK Benelli TNT 25, Mahindra Mojo, Yamaha FZ 25 and Bajaj Dominar 400. These bikes range under Rs 2 lakhs and have good engines with decent features offerings. The Mojo and Dominar are somewhat cruisers, but similar pricing brings them into this competition. As both of them are power cruisers, they are basically cruiser-cum-sports bike. The FZ 25 boasts of the similar specs, but it is priced quite cheap by nearly Rs 55,000. FZ boats of Yamaha’s acceleration and good riding quality. The main competition comes from DSK Benelli TNT, which is a 250cc naked bike. It is priced similar too, but the brand is not as famous as KTM in India.
