While covering Auto Expo 2010 News I accidentally spotted Mahindra Scorpio Platoon car outside the Hall number 7 of Pragati Maidan on 5 January.
The modified version of Mahindra Scorpio named Scorpio Platoon looked stunning in bright metallic red and gray combination. The interiors were also dual tone with red and grey colored theme.
The head-light cluster looked sporty with 3 small round lamps studded in grey color body-parts. The bumper was also grey in color with fog lamps and turn indicator lights. The 5-spooked steel allows with about 18 inch tubeless radials were giving the car its required muscular looks.
The rear of the Scorpio Platoon had chrome steel roll-bar like formation and the 5th wheel mounted at rear. The door windows were covered in black and had slightly tinted glass. The front of the car had red colored grille with a pulley wire drum-crane arrangement mounted to pull other stuck vehicles in off-roading adventure trips.
The rear tail lamps were like standard Scorpio but the rear door was stripped off and replaced by an open boot space with chrome plated metallic looks. It attracted a lots of crowd around and people praised the SUV.
The car was not there for official display and had not representative around it when we spotted it. There is no data about the specifications of the car. It is also not known that this modified Scorpio version is an official Concept variant by Mahindra and Mahindra or it belongs to someone who has modified it to this variant.
Whatever be the case, its was surely an eye catcher and hear-turner for the crowd even when it was just parked outside the hall without any glamour and models around. This is purely a beautiful design.
