So the Maruti Ignis’ market launch has finally taken place! Maruti’s new compact crossover will has a starting price of Rs 4.59 lakh. It will be sold exclusively thru Nexa premium dealerships. The Ignis will cater to younger buyers. Thanks to its crossover credentials, the Ignis has its own unique identity. The closest rival to the Ignis, in terms of design, comes in the form of Mahindra KUV100. However, the Ignis also rivals the likes of Grand i10 and Ford Figo. Reasons to Buy

1. Looks

The Ignis looks nothing like anything on the road. True, the KUV100 is one model that too has a crossover design, but the Ignis definitely looks more aggressive and, arguably, more stylish as well. The Ignis has been designed around the them of “Shape the Inspiration”.

As per Suzuki, the Ignis is “intelligent but tough, offering reliable performance rooted in the Suzuki 4×4 tradition coupled with the latest fuel-saving technology. The minimalist design blends perfectly into the driver’s lifestyle, while its distinctive character brings real inspiration to the daily routine.”

2. Price 

Maruti has almost always priced its cars really competitively. The Ignis is no different. It has a starting price of Rs 4.59 Lakh (ex-shworoom Delhi) for the base petrol trim. The top diesel model costs around Rs 7.80 Lakh.

At such a price point, the Ignis will rival the likes of Hyundai Grand i10, Ford Figo and Mahindra KUV100.

3. Mileage

Marutis have always been known to offer a good mix of performance and fuel mileage. The Ignis is no different in this aspect. The Ignis shares its engines with the Swift.
