While the GT-R will work wonders for Nissan’s image, it isn’t exactly a car that will drive sales. Nissan X-Trail
Showcased at the Auto Expo in February 2016, the Nissan X-Trail was scheduled to arrive in showrooms by the end of 2016. However, according to latest reports, the Nissan X-Trail India launch will likely take place by 2018, after its showing at the Auto Expo 2018. Nissan sold the previous generation X-Trail in India, but it was taken off the shelves due to lacklustre demand. The new model that will come to India will be a hybrid.

Nissan Kicks
Next up on our list of upcoming Nissan cars in India is the Kicks small SUV. On sale in Brazil, the Nissan Kicks is a direct rival to the Hyundai Creta. With the arrival of the Kicks, Nissan might consider discontinuing the Terrano as they will fall in the same price bracket. The launch of the Nissan Kicks in India is still some time away. It is likely to take place in 2018. Both petrol and diesel engine options will be on offer.

Datsun Go Cross
The Datsun Go Cross received a very positive response from show goers at the 2016 Auto Expo. Keeping that mind, Nissan seems to have fast-tracked its development and the Datsun Go Cross SUV is scheduled to arrive in India before the end of 2017. It will be based on the Go+ MPV, but will feature better interiors with more equipment. Nissan will be targeting a price of around 4.5 lakhs for the entry level variant of the Datsun Go Cross.

Datsun Redi GO AMT
Next on our list of upcoming Nissan cars in India is the redi-GO AMT. Launched in July 2016, the Red-GO has enjoyed a decent run in the market until now. However, Datsun wants to reach out to more buyers. And to do that, they will launch the redi-GO with an AMT gearbox. Unlike the KwidAMT, the Redi GO AMT will use the 799cc engine and not the bigger 1.0 L unit.

New Micra
The next generation Micra that made its debut recently couldn’t be more different from the current model. The curvy lines of the outgoing model have been replaced by an aggressive look and sharp creases. Although the new Nissan Micra finds a place on our list of upcoming Nissan cars in India, it might not come to us. Majorly because Nissan might find it difficult to keep costs in check. Even if Nissan does bring it to India, the Micra launch will not take place before 2018.
