Skoda India recently launched the new Rapid facelift in India. The Czech manufacturer plans to follow it up with the launch of a special edition of the sedan. Called the Skoda Rapid Monte Carlo Special Edition, it will feature exterior updates as well as changes to the interior. Mechanically, it will be the same as the Rapid on sale right now. Skoda Rapid Monte Carlo India launch should take place sometime next year. Expect the Rapid special edition to cost around Rs 20,000 more than the standard car. Skoda India has confirmed they will be bringing the Rapid Monte Carlo to India. However, exact launch dates are yet to be revealed. Our guess is that the new Rapid facelift Monte Carlo edition launch will take place in the first half of 2017. Skoda has a few other launches in the pipeline as well. These include Octavia Black Edition, Octavia RS and the Kodiaq SUV.

The upcoming special edition of the Rapid will feature a slew of cosmetic upgrades. These will include exterior as well as interior changes. These new additions will be similar to the ones available on the Euro-spec Rapid Monte Carlo
- Black Surround for the front grille
- Smoked headlamps
- Smoked tail lights
- Black skirting for front and rear bumpers
- Black side skirts
- Side view mirrors finished in black
- Black lip spoiler
- New black alloy wheels
- Badging on B-pillar
- Contrast stitching on back upholstery for the interiors.

New Skoda Rapid Monte Carlo Special Edition Design Review
As you can read in the section above, the New Skoda Rapid Monte Carlo Special Edition will feature a very sporty black colour theme all around. Among the highlights of the design of this special edition will be a black roof, new black alloys wheels and black interiors. Also, the chrome seen on the standard car will be ditched in favour of a sportier black theme. Expect the existing set of colours options to get the Monte Carlo makeover. Also, there will be a new shade of red available.
On the inside, the beige will be replaced by black. The seats will get contrasting stitching that will lend the cabin a very sporty feel. Other additions might include a flat-bottom steering. Other features will remain the same as the standard model.
