For months one of the biggest car manufacturer Peugeot has been in the news for launching Peugeot 508 sedan in India and everything was under anticipation since then until the same 508 Sedan and Peugeot 207 small car were spotted on the same day in Pune.
Interestingly only the 508 sedan was expected for the Indian market but spotting the small car along was a surprise. The cars were out on a conventional endurance test, which every manufacturer put their new cars through, making sure that the newly engineered cars go perfect on the Indian roads.
Both the new cars were right hand driven and and looked as refreshing as no other vehicle in the market. While the 508 sedan was spotted in both petrol and diesel variants, the 207 hatchback was spotted in a petrol variant only.
Expectedly both the cars will be launched in the market by the year 2012 or 2013. The hatchback is supposed to compete with Hyundai i20, Ford Figo and 2011 Maruti Swift whereas the sedan will take on the likes of Volkswagen Passat, Skoda Superb and Honda Accord. The sedan, as mentioned above, will come in CRDI diesel engine as well as MPFI petrol engine versions capable of producing 140 BHP and 160 BHP respectively.
The hatchback is again expected to come in both 1.2 Litre petrol and 1.4 Litre diesel variants. Now that the cars have been caught testing on the Indian turf we hope the same to be showcased at the 2012 Auto Expo.
