In India Royal Enfield has its own market share that no other manufacturer can fight for. It stands apart from all the other bike makers and its charm and success is well known in the typical Indian cities as well as towards the outskirts. There is no stopping for this brand in India as inspite of several bikes being launched every now and then, the Enfield is still the all in all in its segment with no competition.
The company offers an amazing line-up with massive 350 CC and 500 CC powerhouses and recently it has announced of launching another machine from its stable for the 500 CC segment, the company’s Facebook profile page.
As per the announcement, Royal Enfield Classic Chrome 500 is on its way to the Indian two wheeler market and will be launched soon. Earlier displayed at the 2010 Auto Expo and later launched in the American and European markets, the motorcycle was much in anticipation for the Indian market which finally will come to reality.
Also known as Royal Enfield UCE500 globally, the bike is not different from the current Classic 500 EFI and is powered by the same 500CC, air-cooled, push rod engine producing a breathtaking 27.7 BHP of peak power at 5250 RPM along with a peak torque figure of 41.3 Nm at 4000 RPM. And a conventional 5 speed transmission has been coupled with the engine. In contrast with the export version with 18 inch wheels, the Indian variant will get 19 inch wheels which ensure better stability at higher speeds.
Moving on to looks, the chrome finish distinguishes this bike even if you are a few light-years far. Almost 80-90 % of the body is covered with chrome except for the tool box, a part of the fuel tank which is covered with Royal Enfield stickers on either side and also a strip of paint running all the way from the front of the fuel tank to the tail light.
Pricing wise the Chrome one is expected to cost Rs. 10,000 more than the Classic 500 but its worth the looks and the road presence in offers. We hope the bike does well in the market and its launch happens soon.
