Honda SIEL seems to be taking strong decisions considering the competition which is eating up sales of Honda cars in India gradually. Recently Honda slashed prices of its Ace car, the Honda City by up to Rs. 66,000 and after the popular Honda City, this time it’s the turn of Honda Jazz small car by Honda. Considering the price bracket it falls in, which is Rs. 7.12 Lakhs to Rs. 7.56 Lakhs Ex-showroom Delhi, Honda Jazz seems to be too premium cost small car. The reason being most small cars in the segment of Jazz are priced at least Rs. 1 Lakh cheaper which is a big difference in cost in a cost sensitive market like India.
As per a report from ICB, the prices of Honda Jazz will go down by up to Rs. 1.75 Lakhs on ex-showroom price of Honda Jazz depending on the variant. This may not be an official price cut, but will be offered in a series of discounts while giving a smaller cut in the ex-showroom price of the Honda Jazz. This way it will be a mega discount without putting Honda marketing bosses in the middle of a lot of questions on the pricing strategy.
The details of this discount have been revealed by a Honda car dealer and the official word from Honda is awaited on the same. The maximum possible total discount of Rs. 1.75 Lakhs comprises of Rs. 55,000 dealer discount, add to it the Insurance at Rs.1 offer and you get an additional discount of about Rs. 25,000, which makes the total of Rs. 80,000 discount at the dealer end. With an additional price cut of Rs. 95,000, which is yet to be formally announced, the total price cut is approximately up to a maximum of Rs. 1.75 Lakhs in the price of Honda Jazz.
