The TVS Apache series has always been loved for its sharp road-handling characteristics and rev-eager engines. The Apache RTR 160 is easily among the most successful products from the Hosur-based bike manufacturer. Even the RTR 180 and the recently launched RTR 200 4V have been successful in garnering a favourable response from the bike enthusiasts. If the rave reviews by the bike lovers are anything to by, the RTRs come across as a much sportier offering than the Bajaj Pulsars. However, TVS needs more than a RTR 200 4V to outperform the competition. To take the fight to the 373cc KTM twins, TVS is speculated to be working on the ‘TVS Apache RTR 300’. The TVS Apache RTR 300 price could be roughly INR 1.7 lakhs and its launch could happen by April, 2017. Read on for details on the upcoming new TVS Apache RTR 300 –

TVS Akula 310 Design
The TVS Apache RTR 300 will take several design cues from the Akula concept showcased at the Expo. The Akula has been designed with feedback from the TVS racing team. It has been designed by a team which comprises of people from TVS Motor Company and BMW Motorrad. The manufacturer says that the new Akula 310 pays homage to TVS Racing’s successful run of 33 years. In all chances, the Apache RTR 300 will look as sharp and aggressive as the Akula concept. The Akula is built around a very stiff space frame chassis and it uses many carbon-fibre components and an aluminium sub-frame to keep the weight in check. Furthermore, it gets a cast alloy swing arm that should help enhance the handling characteristics and the overall dynamics. The Akula also gets a dorsal fin to have a low coefficient of drag.
