Design and Features
Much like every other naked bike, the MT-09 gets minimal body panels. However, it gets a chiseled fuel tank and an aggressive stance which add to the muscular appearance. The front end gets a sleek headlamp while the rear features a narrow LED stop lamp. A short stubby exhaust and 10 spoke alloy wheels round off the exteriors. Yamaha will offer the MT-09 in two colour options – Race Blue and Matte Grey.
Commenting on the launch of the MT–09, Masaki Asano, Managing Director, Yamaha Motor India Sales Pvt. Ltd. said, “We are very excited to introduce the MT–09 to the Indian market after its successful run globally. This launch will reiterate our commitment to offer bikers in India the very best mix of Yamaha’s technological expertise coupled with style and performance. The MT–09 is essentially targeted at the youth who are looking for thrill in their daily rides with great fuel efficiency.”
“The new year has got off to a great start for us as we launch our latest product this year after the successful unveil of the Cygnus Ray–ZR yesterday. India is a very crucial market for us and it has been our constant endeavor to offer world class products to our customers here and these two additions bear testimony to our efforts” he added.
Many were expecting Yamaha to launch either the M-Slaz or the MT-03 in India as an introduction to the MT series of bikes, but it looks like enthusiasts will have to wait a little longer to get their hands on these entry level sports bikes.
