Over 3 Million Units of the Maruti Alto Sold in 10 Years
One of India’s most iconic cars, the Maruti Alto, has reached yet another milestone by notching up total sales of 30 lacs! The Alto has been India’s best-selling model for 10 years in a row and has been seen comprehensively outperforming its competitors year after year. It took about 15 years and 6 months for the Alto to achieve this historic figure. Alto is the only Indian auto brand to cross this milestone. Commenting on this extraordinary landmark, Mr. R S Kalsi, Executive Director, Marketing & Sales, Maruti Suzuki said, “Alto has constantly evolved to reflect the changing India. While Alto’s true essence lies in its remarkable fuel efficiency, performance, attractive price and low maintenance, it has a zippy and sporty design that appeals to customers. Over the years, Maruti Suzuki has kept the brand rejuvenated with latest technology, features and design. Alto is being offered with features – airbag and Auto Gear Shift – at par with higher segment cars. Maruti Alto 800 Specifications
Powering the Alto 800 is a tried and tested 796cc, three-cylinder petrol engine that has a max. power of 47 bhp and a peak torque of 69 Nm.
Maruti Alto K10 Specifications
The Alto K10, on the other hand, gets a bigger, more powerful motor in the form of 998cc, three-cylinder petrol engine that belts out peak power-torque figures of 67 bhp-90 Nm.
Both the engine variants can be ordered with a factory-fitted CNG kit to further reduce the running costs.
