Specs
Powering the Mercedes-Maybach S600 is a 6.0 litre bit-turbo V12 which puts out 523 bhp and a massive 830 Nm of torque. This luxury barge weighs in at 2,335 kg, but still manages to complete the 0-100 km/h sprint in 5 seconds flat going up to an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h. The engine is mated to a 7G-tronic Plus Automatic Transmission. Mercedes-Benz claims that the S600 is the quietest sedan on the world, a feat they have managed to achieve through extensive testing carried out at their aero-acoustic wind tunnel.
The Maybach brand is not new to India. The Maybach 62 was sold in India before the brand was shut down in 2011 following constant losses. The company then decided to revive the name as a sub-brand of Mercedes-Benz producing uber luxury derivatives of existing products. The Mercedes-Maybach S600 was unveiled in 2014 and will be followed by an ultra-luxury SUV based on the upcoming GLS which will undergo a similar treatment.
