Maruti Suzuki has increased the prices of its cars effective from April 4 2011. The prices have been increased by up to Rs. 9,000. The price increase varies between Rs. 1,100 to Rs. 9,000 for various car models. The effective increase percentage has been kept up to 0.4% which is a marginal increase. This increase is an effect of the rising input cost and increase in duty resulting from Indian Union Budget of 2011 which has come into effect from April 2011. This increase will put some additional burden on the 12 Lakh car buyers who purchase Maruti cars every year!
