That the mighty Nissan GT-R is India-boundย is something that has been speculatedย at least a gazillion times by now. However, it is only now that Nissan India has revealed its plans of bringing the Godzilla to our shores. As per a report by Autocar India, the Nissan GTR India launch date will fall in this calendar year, and the much loved supercar could hit the showrooms around Christmas this year. It is being said that the delay in the launch of the GT-R was caused by the lack of the sophisticated service infrastructure required to maintain this high octane beast. For the record, the Nissan GT-Rโs twin-turbo 3.8-litre V6 engine.

It is expected that the Nissan GT-R will cost upwards of INR 2 Crores in India.
Speaking to the media, Guillaume Sicard, president of operations, Nissan India said,โIt is easy to launch a car, but whatโs the point if we cannot offer after-sales support after we sold a car that would cost about Rs 2 crore.” Currently, the few GT-Rs that have found a home in India are serviced byย technicians that fly to our country from Dubai. Quite obviously, this isn’t the most feasible option. However, Nissan is said to have charted out plans of upgrading a handful ofย service facilities with specially trained technicians that can service the GT-R. As per Nissan, these technicians have undergone aย four months long intensive training to qualify as GT-R technicians.

The current generation Nissan GT-R is easily among the sharpest of the supercars from the land of the rising sun. The GT-R can give many aย Ferraris, Porsches and Lamborghinis a run for their money, and yet, is a lot more practical for normal usage. The GT-R is currently theย fifth fastest car on the famousย Nรผrburgring Nordschleife track with a lap time of 7 minutes 8 seconds. In India, the GT-R has posted faster timesย than theย Lamborghini Gallardo and Porsche 911 Carrera on the Sriperumbudur circuit in a test by Autocar India.
