KTM has been well received by Indian consumers and the Austrian bike manufacturer continues to grow from strength to strength every year. A combination of striking appearance, good performance and pocket-friendly prices due to local manufacturing are the major reasons behind KTM’s success in India. After tasting success with the 200 and 390 Duke and RC 200 and 390, KTM is looking to expand its range in India with a few more bikes from the Duke and RC stable. Also in the pipeline are new models from KTM’s Adventure series which, when launched, will make high-performance touring bikes more accessible to cross country bikers. 250 Duke
The 250 Duke was unveiled by KTM at the Tokyo Motor Show recently along with the RC250. Manufacturing of all these bikes has already begun at Bajaj-KTM’s facility in Chakan, Pune. Although there is no confirmation from the company’s side regarding its launch in India, the rumours are very strong and the announcement could be made at next year’s Auto Expo. The 250 Duke would be a perfect bike to fill the void between the 200 and 390 and with 250cc bikes from their competitors like Yamaha on its way, the 250 Duke would serve as a good addition to KTM’s lineup. The 250cc motor produces 31.3 PS @ 9,000 RPM and a peak torque of 24Nm @ 7,250 rpm.

RC250
The 250 Duke’s faired cousin was also present at the Tokyo Motor Show and is already being manufactured at their facility in Chakan, Pune. The RC250 boasts of specifications identical to that of the 250 Duke- 250cc motor producing 31.3 PS @ 9,000 RPM and a peak torque of 24Nm @ 7,250 rpm. Like the 250 Duke, the RC250 will fill the void between the RC200 and RC390 and will also help KTM compete with similar offering from Yamaha and Kawasaki.

Adventure 390
Although there have been delays in the proposed launch of the KTM Adventure series, the company has stated that these bikes will make it to India. KTM is concentrating more on the naked and sports bike range for the sole reason that these bikes are the ones that are expected to bring in good numbers. Still, the KTM Adventure 390 could find its way into KTM showrooms by the end of this year. The bike will be powered by a 374cc single cylinder engine which puts out 43 bhp and 35 Nm torque. Looks will basically be a scaled down version of existing larger capacity bike from KTM’s Adventure stable such as the Adventure 1190. This Adventure 390 is easily among the most awaited of all upcoming KTM bikes in India 2015 – 2016.

Adventure 1190
The big daddy of all the upcoming KTM bikes in India is the Austrian manufacturer’s Adventure 1190. The 1190 Adventure is powered by a 1,195cc motor which produces 150 bhp power and 110 Nm torque, enough to tackle the harshest of terrains one would come across during cross country biking. ABS is a standard feature on the bike and KTM also offers a range of biking gear and equipment for serious cross country biking.
