The upcoming Audi Q6 SUV has been teased
Audi has recently published the first-ever teaser image of an electric SUV that is likely to go on sale under the Q6 moniker. The speculated Audi Q6 SUV will share its (MLB) platform with the Q7 and will come equipped with a 100kWh battery pack that should bestow the model with a maximum range of around 300 kms. The Audi Q6 SUV release date is being expected to fall in the last quarter of 2017, which means that the upcoming all-electric production SUV from the famous German premium car maker is still some time away from its public debut.
Autocar UK has quoted Audi chairman Rupert Stadler as saying that the new regulations in as many as eight US states has necessitated that premium car makers would require to “build a range of all-electric vehicles”. Audi’s R&D head Dr. Ulrich Hackenberg has confirmed that the Q6 has been under development and that its styling would take inspiration from the Prologue concept that was showcased earlier. This means that the Audi Q6 SUV would have a coupe type design that would be more emotional and sporty than the Q7.

Rivals
It is being reported that while the Audi Q6 will rival the likes of BMW X6, Mercedes MLC and Range Rover Sport, it will also target the upcoming Tesla Model X, which is expected to make its debut later this year.
Audi Q8 SUV
Talking about the speculated Audi Q8 SUV, the next flagship from the German car maker is expected to be unveiled some time in 2018. In terms of performance, the Q8 will be at par with the A8 sedan, but will have a much higher ability to tackle rough roads. It is expected that the entry-level variant, which will come with a 3.0-litee V6 motor, would cost around 50,000 pounds. The more powerful 4.0-litre V8 RS Q8 on the other hand could set you back by 90,000 pounds.
