The news has it that the New Skoda Superb will be riding on the same MQB platform the all-new Volkswagen Passat (B8) and has borrowed most of the inspiration from the VisionC concept which was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show this year. Its reported that the designing team for the vehicle is headed by the designer Jozef Kaban. The striking styling of the car are being expected to result into a lower and wider car than the current generation of the car which consequently will increase the trunk space in the car.
The mechanical specs of the car include a 2.0-L turbo-diesel engine with erupts a power of 190 HP and a torque of 400 Nm and a 2.0-L petrol engine which produces a 280 PS and 380 Nm of power and torque, respectively. The similar petrol engine works under the hood for the Audi S3, Golf R.
But the most exciting news are the rumors which suggest that the new Superb will also be offered as a plug-in hybrid. The electric responsibilities will be on an electric motor working in sychronisation with a 1.4 TSI engine to provide a combined output of 211 HP. And a electric range of 50 Km is expected.
The worldwide sales are expected to start by the second half of the 2015 year pricing somewhere lower than the Passat.
