Mahindra Two Wheelers has been teasing Indian motorcycle enthusiasts for a long time now regarding the upcoming Mojo 300 spy shots of which keep popping quite frequently hinting that a launch is imminent in the coming months. The latest spy shots show the bike without any camouflage for the first time which probably means that the bike is in it’s final stages of testing and almost launch ready.
A few days ago we reported that the launch of the Mahindra Mojo 300 has been pushed back again because the company wanted to concentrate on their new automatic scooter Mahindra Gusto but judging by the lack of camouflage on the bike in the latest snap shots we think the launch will take place very soon maybe even in December.
The bike doesn’t seem to look any different from the one showcased at an event exclusively for dealers and comes with sporty, muscular styling, twin headlamps with daytime running lights, LED taillamps. The twin exhausts, however, could have been styled better with a more integrated look and the tail looks a bit too much like the Ducati Scrambler Classic but all-in-all its a very smart looking design.
Its common knowledge by now that the Mahindra Mojo 300 is propelled by a 292cc engine that puts out a maximum power of 25.8 bhp with the peak torque being rated at 25 Nm mated to a 6 speed manual transmission. The bike aslo sports Pirelli’s Demon tyres and a petal disc up front and a smaller standard disc at the rear.
The Mahindra Mojo 300 looks very promising and with an expected pricing of around Rs. 2 lakh (ex-showroom) it will definitely be a worthy alternative to the Kawasaki Ninja Z250, Suzuki Inazuma, Honda CBR 250, KTM Duke 390. Launch is expected soon but judging by the number of delays we can’t be too sure right now but rumours point to a late December 2014 or early January 2015 launch.
