Fazer V2.0 vs V1.0
In terms of design, the latest generation Fazer borrows a lot of components from the new FZ. Starting from the tank all the way to the rear, the FZ and Fazer are the same. There is a new split-seat, a new pillion grab rail, the twin-lamp fairing has been redesigned, so have the visor and the tank extensions. d
The biggest difference is the new fuel-injected 149-cc, 12.9 BHP / 12.8 Nm engine, which replaces the previous 153-cc carbureted unit. The power figure is lower by about 0.9 BHP and the torque is down by 0.8 Nm, but the engine is more fuel-efficient than before. Yamaha’s ‘Blue-Core’ technology helps the Fazer be a claimed 14 per-cent more fuel-efficient than before. The Fazer has shed about 4 Kgs in terms of weight, this coupled with new front and rear suspension settings, new front and rear tubeless tyres and chassis changes makes the Fazer more agile, a better performer and also helps with the higher fuel-efficiency of the bike.
The Fazer, interms of features, gets a new multi-function instrument cluster which includes an ‘ECO indicator’ which will encourage fuel-efficient riding.
