Spacious design, great features, decent millage and reasonable price yet the Renault Scala has not sold well in India. Renault has so far only the Duster to boast of and has been trying really hard to make Scala a hit among the sedan customers in India. The Nissan Sunny got a facelift in July 2014 and inspired by the same the Scala is all set to get major touch ups. The news from various online sources confirms the arrival of Renault Scala facelift which can be in September or else in October 2014.
Expected Price
The Renault Scala facelift is expected to be priced between Rs. 7-10 Lakh ex-showroom
The facelift will mostly comprise of the cosmetic touch ups while the mechanical aspect of the four wheeler will have some minor tweaks hopefully giving out a better millage. The redesigned headlamps, integrated blinkers, new alloy wheels, new ORVM and front grille will be the areas with new looks on the outside. The interiors will have some major convenient features included like the rear view camera, a redesigned instrument cluster, leather on the steering wheel and gear shift knob, 5.1 surround sound multimedia system, multi information display(MID) etc.
The Renault Scala was launched in India in September 2012 in the diesel as well as petrol variant with price ranging from 6 Lakh to 10 Lakh. Ever since the launch the car has not been able to catch up with the other key players of the segment namely the Honda City, Hyundai Verna, its sibling the Nissan Sunny, Fiat Linea and Skoda Rapid. The company tried every possible tactic for the better sales results of the product. The new diesel powered RxE version was launched for Rs. 8.29 Lakh and was followed by the June 2014 launch of Scala Travelogue RXL petrol. The company hopes that the facelift will attract more customers towards the car, we will have to wait and watch.
