It has been for over 12 years that the Bajaj Pulsar took over the reign of the Indian motorcycle scene. The Bajaj Pulsar family which currently consists of five variants (Pulsar 135 LS, 150, 180, 200 NS and 220) is set for an expansion in the coming months. The faired Pulsar 200 SS along with the SS 400 and CS 400 that were unveiled at the Auto Expo, would take the popular brand upmarket while the 150 NS and 180 NS are aimed at keeping the volume spectrum of the premium bike segment covered. The upcoming Bajaj Pulsar 150NS was spied recently giving us some insight about what can we expect from this younger version of the highly successful 200NS.

Price:
The Pulsar 150NS can be expected to lie in the price range of Rs 72,000 to Rs 80,000.
Decoding The Spy Shots:
In terms of design, the 150NS follows the 200 NS’s steps. The motorcycles does look identical to the 200NS and shares a lot of the design elements from its 200cc sibling including the under belly exhaust. What’s new in the 150NS is the introduction of a rear monoshock suspension which, till now, was only seen on the 200NS in the Pulsar family. It also misses out on the split seat and gets a more conventional seat setup.
The powertrain of Pulsar 150NS is expected to borrow its 149 cc DTS-i engine from the Pulsar 150. The motor generates 14.7 BHP and 12.5 Nm of torque and would come mated to a 5-speed gearbox. Although it is likely to be quicker than the current model and lighter in weight. Reduction in weight may also witness better fuel efficiency levels. Whether or not it gets fuel injection is yet to be seen, on one hand the FZ series has gotten fuel injection to the table but on the other its not a standard technology in this segment
We Expect the Pulsar 150NS and the 180NS both to launch in quick succession around the festive period this year.
