Bajaj, the Indian two wheeler manufacturer is planning to launch yet another variant of the Bajaj Discover. This will be the flagship variant of the Discover and will come with the moniker Discover 150S. Now before you get excited and expect some major changes, let us just put it bluntly that there are none. Infact you’ll need a very keen eye to differentiate it from the other Discover variants visually. Nonetheless reportedly the new flagship Discover has touched down in showrooms and the dealers have even started accepting booking for them at a sum of Rs 1000, with the deliveries set to commence after the official launch on 1st August.
Specifications & Features:
The Bajaj Discover 150S will be powered by a 150cc, 4-stroke, single-cylinder, 4-valve, air-cooled and carburetted engine that gets Bajaj’s patented DTS-i technology. Power output is a generous 14 BHP at 8500 RPM while torque output is 12.75 Nm at 6500 RPM, the unit is coupled to a 5-speed gearbox. The Pulsar 150 has a power output of 15 BHP and 12.5 NM.
The 150cc engine will come mated to a 5-speed gearbox. It gets the commanding 100/90-17 rear MRF tyre tyre at the rear which is one of the few differences between the current flagship 125ST and the 150S. It gets a monoshock rear suspension and the instrument cluster resembles that of the Discover 125ST.
Bajaj is also working on launching a semi-faired version of the Discover 150S which was caught on test a while ago. The Discover 150F is expected to be launched shortly after the 150S.
Market Competitors:
Generally used to being the market leader, Bajaj is certainly not enjoying trailing Hero Motcorp, Honda & TVS. With no plans of getting involved with the automatic scooters and the new range of Pulsar’s just waiting to be unleashed, thing are going to get pretty interesting in the coming months.
