Mercedes-Benz India has just announced that it has updated the CLS 350 for 2014. Widely considered as one of best designed sedan from the stables of MB, the CLS 350 is sold in the Indian market as a fully imported model. With the arrival of the 2014 edition, the CLS is likely to reinforce its presence in the luxury market as a sporty four-door luxury sedan.
Although there were rumours of Mercedes-Benz launching the slightly facelifted version of the CLS (which was launched internationally only last week) in India early 2015, the German manufacturer has instead decided to launch a model year upgrade instead. The good news though is the fact that the new car is not only slightly more equipped than its earlier variant, it is also slightly cheaper.
Price:
The previous Mercedes CLS 350 was priced at Rs. 1.03 Crore, the 2014 model comes at a slightly friendlier introductory price of Rs. 89.9 Lakh (Both prices ex-showroom Delhi)
The Updates:
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Eberhard Kern, Managing Director and CEO, Mercedes-Benz India said, “CLS-Class is a perfect embodiment of modern sense of status and sensual shapes. Exteriors:
On the exterior front, the new Mercedes CLS comes in a new colour variant of Diamond Silver, combined with all-new 18-inch 15-spoke alloy wheels accentuating its near perfect design. The four-door coupe stance of the CLS-Class teamed up with its distinctive grille, sweptback headlamps and LED taillights at the back make it a sure-shot head turner.
Interiors:
While the heads turn in envy outside, inside the CLS 350 2014 the high end upholstery is well complemented by the three dimensional display instrument clusters and the multi-function steering wheel that comes standard with paddle shifters. That’s not all the Mercedes CLS 350 has also been equipped with Harman Kardon Logic 7 surround sound system that consists of 14 high-performance speakers, including a subwoofer and a 9-channel DSP amplifier. For mood lighting lovers, the car gets three themes that can be set to Neutral, Solar or Polar modes.
Engine:
The CLS 350 continues to be powered by a 3.5-litre V6 engine which makes 306PS of power and 370Nm of torque and boasts a 0-100kmph sprint in 6.1s and top speed of 250kmph.
Other Features:
The car has been equipped with Mercedes’ AIRMATIC suspension, which allows for adjustment of ground clearance. Other Features on the car include, Active Park Assist, reversing camera, parking sensors, and a sliding sunroof.
