Safety ratings is something modern-day car buyers look closely at to make up their minds about which car to purchase
The Tata Nexon.ev 45 has bagged a full 5-star safety rating at the Bharat NCAP testing. Nexon.ev is the electric iteration of the mighty popular Nexon compact SUV. Nexon has achieved immense success in India in the last few years. In fact, it bears the distinct tag of being the first Indian car to score 5 stars at the Global NCAP back in 2018. That was a huge reason why customers started caring about this aspect. Thereafter, Tata and Mahindra started launching 5-star safety-rated cars left and right. Today, it is a critical point while considering a new car.

As per the official press release from Tata Motors, the existing safety ratings of the 2024 Tata Nexon.ev have been extended to the newly introduced variants of the EV. Hence, the overall score remains just as before, but is now applicable to the new trim too. This means a healthy 29.86 points out of 32 in the Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) and 44.95 points out of 49 in the Child Occupant Protection (COP) category. The standard equipment list includes 6 airbags, ISOFIX child seat mounts at the rear, seatbelt pretensioner, seatbelt load-limiter, airbag cut-off switch, Electronic Stability Control (ESC) (UN GTR No.8 / UNECE R140 / AIS-133), pedestrian protection (AIS-100) and seatbelt reminder (AIS-145). All this results in a full 5-star safety rating in both sections.
Going a bit deeper, the compact electric SUV secured 29.86 points out of 32 in AOP. This consists of 14.26 points out of 16 in the Frontal Offset Deformable Barrier Test and 15.60 points out of 16 in the Side Movable Deformable Barrier Test.
