In this post, we take a look at the details of a drag race between the Mahindra XEV 9e and the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon. In recent times, the YouTubers in India have become immensely popular by conducting these events. Viewers really appreciate the hardcore acceleration comparisons between various cars. On this occasion, the drag race event takes place between two unique products. On the one hand, we have the electric SUV from the Indian auto giant. On the other hand, there is an American hardcore off-roading SUV. Let us see which one comes out on top.
Mahindra XEV 9e vs Jeep Wrangler Rubicon
This post stems from Tushar Sharma on YouTube. The host has the two contenders side-by-side. For the first round, the XEV 9e is driven in Default Mode, while there are no drive modes on the Wrangler. Interestingly, the XEV 9e took the lead from the start and maintained it throughout the race. It was surprising to see the Wrangler struggle so much. For the second round, the driver of the Wrangler was changed. As a result, it briefly put up a fight in the beginning, but the XEV 9e caught up soon and overtook it. Overall, the electric SUV simply thrashed the off-roading SUV.
Specs Comparison
The Mahindra XEV 9e is on sale with two battery pack options – 79 kWh and 59 kWh. This results in a driving range of 656 km and 542 km, respectively, on a single charge. These batteries power the electric motor to generate a decent 286 hp and 380 Nm with the larger battery, to 231 hp and 380 Nm with the smaller unit, respectively. In the sportiest settings, the acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h just takes 6.8 seconds. That is due to the inherent torque delivery associated with EVs. Using a 175 kW DC fast charger, the battery can be juiced up from 20% to 80% in a matter of 20 minutes.
