Over two-thirds of Hyundai cars sold in FY2024-25 were SUVs while 1 in 2 had a sunroof. ADAS and other tech features witness a fast-rising demand
Hyundai Motor India has shared new data showing the rising popularity of SUVs among Indian buyers. In FY2024-25, 68.5% of Hyundai’s total domestic sales came from SUVs. This is a noticeable jump from the previous year’s 63.2%. The SUV line-up includes models like Exter, Venue, Creta, Alcazar, Tucson, and the electric Ioniq 5.
Sunroofs Now a Key Feature of Hyundai Cars in India
Hyundai also revealed that 53.2% of the cars it sold last year came with a sunroof. This means every second Hyundai sold in India had the feature, indicating growing demand for this feature. Sunroofs are now offered in 12 of the 14 models in Hyundai’s portfolio.
ADAS and Safety Tech Gain Popularity: Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) saw more than double the uptake compared to the previous year. ADAS-equipped variants rose from 6.7% in FY2023-24 to 14.3% in FY2024-25. The technology is currently offered in nine Hyundai models.
Commenting on the performance, Mr. Tarun Garg, Whole-Time Director and Chief Operating Officer, Hyundai Motor India Ltd., said, “FY2024-25 has been a landmark year for Hyundai Motor India. The fact that two out of every third vehicle sold by us in India was an SUV is a testament to our deep understanding of Indian customers and our commitment to delivering innovation, safety and style. The doubling of ADAS variant contribution and growing popularity of sunroof-equipped models reflects the rising aspirations of our customers and their readiness to embrace global technologies. We shall continue to march forward with a focus on customer delight, offering products that are future-ready, feature-rich, and engineered for India.”
