We have already seen the Mercedes G-Wagon 6×6 in the past, and now we even have the 6×6 iteration of the Suzuki Jimny
This Suzuki Jimny 6×6 is one-of-a-kind and a famous British car reviewer explains its intricate details. Jimny is one of the most successful lightweight off-roading SUVs in the world. It has been around for over 5 decades across numerous international markets. In India, it is available in a 5-door avatar for the very first time in its existence. However, it is not every day that one gets to experience the Jimny in a 6×6 configuration. Let us take a look at the details here.
Suzuki Jimny 6×6
We are able to witness this uniquely modified Jimny courtesy of carwow on YouTube. The host has the rare Jimny with him. On the outside, it gets a slightly tweaked front section with gloss black paint on the grille. On the sides, there are massive wheel arches, and the rear section has been added to accommodate a third axle and a cargo compartment at the rear. There is a decent amount of space in the tail section. Apart from that, one even gets the roll bars at the rear. Overall, the Suzuki Jimny 6×6 certainly has a unique road presence.
On the inside, the Suzuki Jimny 6×6 gets quilted seats finished in leather, and this soft-touch material is located at various parts of the cabin, including the dashboard and door panels. The seats are much more comfortable than the stock Jimny. Under the hood, there is the same 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol mill, which makes 103 hp and 130 Nm of maximum power and torque, respectively. This mill pairs with a 4-speed automatic transmission with a 4×4 drivetrain.
Driving Impressions
The host drives the vehicle on the highway and in the city. Overall, one can’t escape the fact that the SUV is bulky. He even mentions that the SUV oversteers sometimes due to the heavy weight at the rear. Additionally, the host performs an acceleration and braking test. Due to the added weight because of the new axle, the car feels sluggish to accelerate and stop. In any case, this vehicle is not designed for performance but for an imposing road presence. The vehicle costs around £45,000 (approx. Rs 40 lakh).
