Jimny is one of the most iconic products which people often use for aftermarket modifications
In this post, we take a look at the specifics of a Maruti Jimny, which is converted into an old-school Ford Bronco. Jimny is a lightweight off-roading machine. It boasts a legacy of over 5 decades. However, its current version in India is the first time in its existence that it has been available in a 5-door avatar. Nevertheless, a prominent aftermarket car shop has done its magic to transform this Jimny to transcend eras. As a consequence, we get a mashup between the latest Jimny and the Bronco from the 1970s. Here are the details.
Maruti Jimny Converted into Ford Bronco
The specifics of this case stem from Dhruv Attri on YouTube. The host explains the customizations on this new Jimny thoroughly. I must admit, the very first glance of the exterior will intrigue you about the exact model. The car shop has done a commendable job in ensuring that the paint and styling take the viewers back to the 1970s instantly. At the front, we see a new metallic bumper and round headlamps reminiscent of the era gone by, along with the Robin Egg Blue colour. Along with this, there are white paint components including on the roof, grille, bumper and tyres. I particularly like the old-school turn indicators on the front and rear. The skid plate is rugged.
This Jimny/Fronco gets traditional wheels with a chrome hub in the middle with yellow brake calipers. These wheels are wrapped in Geolander rubber from Yokohama. On the inside, it gets a tan brown upholstery with tons of faux wooden elements. This includes the door panels, dashboard, steering wheel, gear lever, centre console and more. The car shop has even introduced an armrest which is not there in the original Jimny. Overall, the use of leather materials and added amenities adds to the luxury quotient of the car.
My View
I must admit this has to be one of the most stunning and unique iterations of the Maruti Jimny. People often go overboard with core off-roading alterations to make the Jimny more capable and imposing. However, this is a unique case where the car shop switched eras completely and finished it in the elements of another global legend from over 5 decades ago. I would love to cover more such cases in the future.
