The electric vehicle industry in the country is expanding rapidly, and Tata Motors is the leading EV maker
In this post, we take a look at the details of the comparison between the Tata Harrier EV and Curvv EV. Note that while the Curvv EV is already on sale in India, the Harrier EV is yet to launch. Still, the Indian automaker recently teased the electric SUV without any camouflage. As is the case with most Tata EVs, the Harrier EV draws stylistic and aesthetic inspiration from its ICE counterpart. That is not necessarily a bad thing since the regular Harrier boasts an imposing road presence with its latest design language. For now, let us compare the two Tata EVs.
Tata Harrier EV vs Curvv EV – Specs and Price
The Tata Curvv EV is currently available in two versions based on the battery capacity – 45 kWh and 55 kWh. The claimed range figures for these are 502 km and 585 km on a single charge, respectively. Apart from that, the power and torque range from 148 hp / 215 Nm to 165 hp / 215 Nm, respectively. With a 70 kW DC fast charger, you can charge the battery from 10% to 80% in a matter of 40 minutes. This leaves much to be desired when compared to some other modern EVs. The acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h comes up in a mere 8.6 seconds. In India, the prices range from Rs 17.49 lakh to Rs 21.99 lakh, ex-showroom.
On the other hand, we still need to wait a bit longer to know the exact specifications of the Harrier EV. Still, we can expect it to carry a battery of around 75 kWh capacity. This will most likely be good for at least 500 km of range on a single charge. In addition, we know that there will be two drivetrains on offer as well – single-motor 2WD and dual-motor AWD. Hence, it could be used as a moderate off-roader should the owners want to use it in that way. The estimated power and torque figures are 268 PS and 380 Nm, respectively. We will need to wait a bit longer for more details to surface.

My View
It is interesting to compare these two vehicles since they belong to two separate segments. Also, we don’t know the price point of the Harrier EV just yet. Still, if you want a larger and more practical vehicle without having the constraints of a tight budget, the Harrier EV will be the right pick for you. However, if you are a bit strict on your budget and want a relatively smaller car primarily for city usage, the Curvv EV should be your choice. In any case, it is hard to go wrong with either of these compelling propositions.
