The electric vehicle segments in India are getting heated as we prepare for a slew of new-age EVs
In this post, we come across the high speed testing of the Tata Harrier EV. We know that the electric iterations of Harrier and Safari are about to be launched in the coming months. Tata Motors is already the biggest EV player in the country with around 70% market share. It has been able to achieve this status by converting its existing fleet of ICE vehicles into EVs. That has ensured that it is able to offer an electric car in just about every market segment at competitive prices. Similarly, we will get the electric iterations of the Harrier EV pretty soon.
Tata Harrier EV in High Speed Action
We are able to get the details of this case courtesy of tata.evofficial on Instagram. The visuals capture the large electric SUV being driven around on a track by professional drivers. In essence, it is the official trailer for celebrating the 2 lakh milestone. On this occasion, the Indian auto giant gave the viewers a sneak peek into the all-new Harrier.ev. We witness the EV being driven through its paces. In fact, the professional race track allows the drivers to test the vehicle at high speed. It is visible in the video that the SUVs are responding impressively. In time, we will get more such videos from Tata Motors until the launch.
Tata Harrier EV
We got our eyes on the Tata Harrier EV during the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 in New Delhi in January. Hence, we knew how the EV would look. Just like other Tata EVs, it will bear almost similar design theme as the ICE counterpart. Therefore, we will see the slim LED DRLs at the front, which is something we see on many Tata cars. In addition, the main LED headlamp cluster will be positioned on the edges of the bumper. Furthermore, it will carry rugged elements underneath the bumper for that imposing road presence. The side section contains black side pillars, dual-tone aero alloy wheels and black claddings for wheel arches. Similarly, at the rear, it will get the LED taillamps connected via a thin LED strip.
Even though the details regarding the specifications of the Tata Harrier EV are scarce, we can make some logical assumptions. For instance, the battery size could be around 75 kWh. This could result in a decent driving range in the vicinity of 500 km on a single charge. In terms of the performance, the EV will come in single-motor 2WD or dual-motor AWD configurations with power and torque figures ranging around 268 PS and 380 Nm, respectively. Also, the expected price is around Rs 30 lakh. We shall keep our eyes out for more details as they surface.
