The electric iteration of the flagship Tata SUV has been spied testing on multiple occasions in the last few months
The production version of the Tata Harrier EV was recently spotted on a busy public road. Harrier EV was showcased at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 in New Delhi in January. Note that it is, essentially, the electric version of the regular ICE model. Hence, it is bound to be premium and bear an imposing road presence. Even the design philosophy has been borrowed by the ICE version. For now, let us take a look at the details of this latest case.
Production-Spec Tata Harrier EV Spotted
This post stems from motorworldindia on Instagram. The visuals capture the white-coloured Tata Harrier EV plying on a road amidst heavy traffic. In fact, it gets the black roof for that dual-tone effect. Furthermore, the front section contains sleek LED DRLs along with a sealed off front section. The main headlamp cluster is located on the edges of the bumper. I particularly like the rugged skid plate element towards the lower half of the bumper. On the sides, we witness black side pillars, dual-tone aero alloy wheels and black claddings for wheel arches. Overall, there won’t be too many distinctions between the electric and ICE guises in terms of external appearance.
While there are no exact details about the specifications, we are expecting it to carry a battery pack of around 75 kWh capacity. That will ensure a decent range of over 500 km on a single charge. The EV will be available in a single-motor 2WD or dual-motor AWD configurations with power and torque figures ranging in the vicinity of 268 PS and 380 Nm, respectively. On the inside, there will be no shortage of the latest tech and convenience amenities. The expected price is around Rs 30 lakh. We shall know the full details in the coming weeks.
My View
Tata Motors is already the market leader in the EV industry in India. It has converted almost every model in its ICE lineup to an electric one. Apart from that, there are also some new-age products which use a dedicated EV platform like the Punch EV and Curvv EV. Going forward, we will even experience the Sierra EV and Avinya. Clearly, the Indian auto giant is ready to carry on its sales momentum in the EV space as the competition in this segment from the fellow indigenous car marque intensifies.
