It is not often that we get to spot the test mules of the ultra-high-end luxury cars on the roads
The 2026 Mercedes S-Class facelift is being tested on the roads ahead of the launch. Note that this is the facelift iteration of the 7th-generation model. Over the decades, S-Class has been regarded as the pinnacle of luxury. It has adorned the car garages of some of the most influential personalities across the globe. In fact, no celebrity car collection can ever be complete without a Mercedes car. With the new-age technology, the S-Class aims to offer unmatched comfort for the passengers. For now, let us take a look at the details here.
2026 Mercedes S-Class Facelift
We are able to catch a glimpse of this vehicle courtesy of LucchRevs on YouTube. The visuals capture the heavily camouflaged luxury sedan on the back of a flatbed. There seem to be a lot of alterations in comparison to the existing model. This includes things like revised front and rear bumpers, the starry lighting signature, a large front grille, a new rear valance with sporty exhaust tips, etc. The video even includes the typical dual 5-spoke alloy wheels, flush-fitting door handles and a generous use of chrome around the body including window frames. Overall, the large sedan certainly oozes opulence.
While this video doesn’t showcase the cabin amenities, we can expect the latest technological functionalities much similar to what we have seen in the EQS electric sedan. This could incorporate things like a hyperscreen which contains a driver’s instrument cluster, a digital infotainment display, and a passenger screen. Additionally, there is a use of top-notch materials at various places inside the cabin to ensure an ostentatious cabin feel. More details will surface in the coming weeks.
Specs
Finally, let us focus on what will propel this ultra-opulent sedan. Interestingly, it is unclear which engine will this vehicle come with. It could ditch the existing V8 S 580 4MATIC configuration in favour of a new I6 S 580e PHEV which is slightly more powerful than the former. Moreover, the V8 mill could exclusively be reserved for the performance-focused AMG trim. At present, the Indian S-Class retails between Rs 1.79 Crore and Rs 1.90 Crore, ex-showroom. You must expect a considerable bump in the prices of the new model. In any case, we shall keep an eye out for more details as they surface.
