The 100cc segment is Hero motor’s private playground, where trespassers aren’t shot, but are starved for sales figures before they head into exile. The reason for this Godfather like presence can be attributed to a well established and trusted brand name, excellent value for money products and a wide array of choices. Hero makes a product with a very specific audience in mind, which is once again proved true by these spy-shots which captured their latest test mule. The latest from Hero seems to be aimed at the rural buyers who have more use of a load carrier than a pillion seat, based on the HF Dawn it was seen being tested in full camouflage carrying quite the load tied to its carrier -in typical Indian style- secured with tyre tubes.
Expected Price And Launch Date:
Rumours are you can expect the launch in the coming couple of months with a price tag of Rs. 36,000 (Ex-Showroom)
Under The Cover:
Though the covers kept much of the bike hidden, we can see that:
- As compared to HF-Dawn the bike will have a bikini fairing, similar to that of HF-Deluxe.
- The fuel tank seems to be a more leaner version of the current tanks of HF motorcycles.
- Instead of a pillion seat, there is a load carrier (which may be offered with a removable pillion seat).
- The instrument console is an all new unit and features a white background, with a speedometer, odometer and basic lights on display.
Though powertrain details are still not clear, expect the same 97.2cc engine found in other Hero commuters too, which means healthy figures of 7 BHP of max power and 8 Nm of torque can be easily expected. The other details visible were regular-ish spoke wheels, rectangular tail light standard telescopic front forks and rear springs and drum brakes, as expected from a bike in this price bracket.
With competition in the form of TVS MAX4R and Bajaj Boxer, we expect this Hero Dawn load carrier variant to make a decent impact in its targeted segment. With this set to be the cheapest product from the assembly lines of Hero and not a lot of drastic changes to brag about, we expect this bike on roads sooner rather than later.
