The pickup truck iteration of the Mahindra Scorpio N will rival the likes of the Toyota Hilux
In a recent post, we got a glimpse of the Mahindra Scorpio N pickup from inside and out. The pickup is based on the regular Scorpio N which points to a premium experience. You must remember that the Indian auto giant used to sell the Getaway pickup truck a few years ago. Even though it was more focused on the utilitarian aspects, the one based on the Scorpio N will definitely be for those who are looking for a lifestyle truck. For now, let us take a look at the details here.
Mahindra Scorpio N Pickup Spied
We are able to get these visuals courtesy of vashusingh123 on Instagram. As per the information in this post, the pickup truck was spotted in Manali, Himachal Pradesh. In recent times, we have seen Mahindra testing its hardcore SUVs in the tough terrains around Manali. We saw it with the Thar Roxx as well. The video captures a heavily camouflaged truck. However, its silhouette gives away its true identity of being a derivative of the Scorpio N. The front and side sections resemble the regular Scorpio N. Interestingly, the tail end gets the same taillamps as the erstwhile Scorpio Getaway. Nevertheless, these might be dummy units.
Apart from that, the video even offers us a glimpse of the inside. Mostly, the entire cabin layout seems to be identical to the regular Scorpio N. That is the best part about this pickup truck. Despite being a utilitarian product, it doesn’t compromise on the in-cabin comfort, tech and convenience functionalities. We can expect most of the features that you otherwise see on the regular SUV. Hence, it will certainly cater to those who want a lifestyle pickup.
Specs
Even though Mahindra has not announced any details pertaining to the pickup, we know that it will most likely borrow powertrain and transmission options from the regular Scorpio N. This includes aย 2.0-litre 4-cylinder mStallion turbo petrol mill which generates a healthy 200 PS and 380 Nm or a 2.2-litre 4-cylinder mHawk turbo diesel engine which is available in two variants โ 132 PS / 300 Nm or 175 PS / 400 Nm of peak power and torque, respectively. The buyers can choose between manual and automatic gearboxes with both these mills. Also, in the higher trims, there will be the option of a dedicated 4×4 configuration. More details will surface at the launch.
