Indian automobile aficionados are always excited to see an imported muscle car like the latest Mustang plying on our roads
India has received its first Ford Mustang Dark Horse and the owner was spotted driving it on our roads. Mustang is an iconic moniker in the world of automobiles for decades now. Arguably the most successful muscle car ever, the American carmaker has even successfully transitioned it into an EV. Hence, it is future-ready in the form of Mustang Mach-E. Nevertheless, the ICE avatar is still in demand in all corners of the globe. Let us take a look at the details of this beast.
India’s First Ford Mustang Dark Horse Spotted
This video clip comes from Raftaar 7811 on YouTube. The visuals capture the first Ford Mustang Dark Horse in the country. As per the information online, it was seen in Mumbai. Interestingly, it has a right-hand drive configuration which means that the owner has decided to use it permanently. Since it is fresh off the shelf, even the registration plate has not been allotted yet. It carries a yellow number plate with red letters which is a temporary number. Also, the numbers on the plate confirm that it was imported in January 2025.
The video showcases the sporty red muscle car being driven carefully on the Mumbai streets. Unsurprisingly, it made heads turn when it was in public. The black elements on this car are visible vividly. This includes black decals on the bonnet, a black grille, black area around the headlamps, a black component on the front bumper, 19-inch black alloy wheels, a black rear bumper with a rugged element and exhaust underneath and a black spoiler mounted on the boot. I must admit the black contrasts the red colour extremely well and makes it quite enticing and charming indeed.
Specs
The Ford Mustang Dark Horse draws power from a mammoth 5.0-litre naturally aspirated Coyote V8 engine which generates a healthy 500 hp (with 93-octane fuel) and 567 Nm of peak power and torque, respectively. This mill pairs with a 6-speed manual transmission with rev-matching. Alternatively, you can even opt for a 10-speed automatic gearbox with paddle shifters. It gets a Brembo brake system with black calipers and a white Brembo logo. In the US, this trim starts at $64,630 which roughly translates to around Rs 55 lakh. However, due to high import duties, I reckon the prices would’ve been doubled.
