The Vietnamese carmaker demonstrated almost its entire global portfolio at the recently concluded Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 last month
In this post, we are taking a look at the details of the upcoming Vinfast cars in India in 2025. Vinfast already sells cars in North America. With plans to commence operations in India, it is clearly aiming for global domination. To fulfil its ambitious plans, it has at its disposal, some pretty exciting electric SUVs. This ranges from micro-SUV focused on urban commutes to mid-size SUVs which people would love to take out on highways. The VF7 is the prime example of the latter, which will also be the first Vinfast car to be available in India by the festive season this year. The VF6 and VF3 will follow soon thereafter.
Upcoming Vinfast Cars in India 2025
Vinfast VF7
Let us commence with the flagship electric SUV, the Vinfast VF7. Note that it will be the top-of-the-line model for the Indian market only, as Vinfast sells the even more premium VF8 and VF9 abroad. The VF7 will carry the distinct design language of the Vietnamese auto giant with the aim of establishing a strong image of the brand among Indian buyers. The EV boasts a striking fascia with a connected LED light strip which runs the width of the face at the end of the bonnet, while the main headlamps are located on the extreme edges with LED DRLs and a prominent housing. Apart from that, the front fascia also includes a contoured grille and other metallic elements lower down. Moving down the sides showcases flush-fitting door handles, black side pillars, faux roof rails, massive wheel arches with rugged side body cladding and dual-tone aero-optimized alloy wheels. Finally, the tail end offers a shark fin antenna, a roof-mounted spoiler, slim LED taillamps connected via a light panel, gloss black elements on the boot lid and a sporty bumper. It is clear that the EV will carry an imposing road presence.
On the inside, the VF7 embodies all the latest tech, convenience, connectivity and safety amenities to pamper the passengers. This includes things like premium vegan-leather seats, a 12.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a head-up display (HUD), a dual-tone D-cut steering wheel, an elegantly designed gear shift button resembling piano keys, 8 airbags, ADAS, 360-degree camera, voice commands, and much more. In terms of specifications, there are two trims on offer – Eco and Plus. The EV has a battery capacity of 75.3 kWh which enables a claimed range of over 450 km on a single charge. Furthermore, buyers can choose between a single-motor FWD configuration making 201 hp and 310 Nm or a dual-motor AWD setup to produce a decent 348 hp and 500 Nm of maximum power and torque, respectively. It is evident that the carmaker is aiming for premium customers with the VF7. Interestingly, there is also a base trim in the international market which uses a 59.6 kWh battery pack and produces 174 hp and 250 Nm. It has a range of 375 km on a single charge (WLTP). The electric SUV will offer a strong performance, the latest gadgets and gizmos and all the new-age amenities to woo consumers.

Vinfast VF6
The next vehicle which we will see in our market is the Vinfast VF6. It will sit below the VF7 in the lineup. It will take the brand forward to the masses once the VF7 establishes it. VF6 is an electric crossover which lends it a unique appearance. Its front profile will definitely be quite polarizing for a whole bunch of people. This includes a sleek LED light strip covering the front section on the end of the bonnet while the main headlamp cluster is located on the extreme edges of the bumper. This already lends it is a unique appearance. Going further down, you will see rugged black elements which ooze adventurous vibes. Once you get a view of the side profile, you witness a contemporary appearance with prominent wheel arches finished in black materials, chrome frame around the windows, sturdy elements on the door panels, a sloping roofline, elegant alloy wheels and faux roof rails. Completing the exterior design at the rear is a shark fin antenna, VF-insignia for the LED taillamps and a solid skid plate underneath the rear bumper. Overall, it is certainly a unique-looking SUV which will make heads turn everywhere it goes.
Just like the VF7, even the VF6 is not short on the latest tech and convenience amenities to offer the ultimate comfort to the occupants. The first thing that one notices is the driver-focused layout of the components which is something we see in driving-focused high-end luxury cars. On top of that, the main amenities include a free-floating 12.9-inch infotainment display, premium switches underneath the screen to control in-car functions, a flat-bottom steering wheel with controls, soft-touch materials on the dashboard, neatly concealed AC vents, premium materials, head-up display, Level 2 ADAS, and more.
Again, there are two variants on offer – Eco and Plus. Both these use a 59.6 kWh battery pack, which offers a range of 399 km with the Eco version and 381 km with the Plus trim on a single charge. Note that these are WLTP figures. The single-motor configuration powers the front wheels. The power and torque range from 174 hp / 250 Nm to 201 hp / 310 Nm, respectively. These are decent figures to offer an engaging driving experience. This SUV will also most likely be launched after the VF7 later this year.

Vinfast VF3
The final vehicle on this list of upcoming Vinfast cars in India in 2025 is the VF3. Unlike the previous two products, this will be a much more compact offering which will cater to the masses. In fact, it is aimed at driving volumes for the Vietnamese carmaker in India. Many people were already comparing it with the Maruti Jimny in terms of design and road presence. It measures just 3,190 mm in length and has a wheelbase of 2,075 mm. Clearly, it is designed to manoeuvre in the tight urban confinements. The butch electric micro SUV gets a rectangular panel between the basic headlamps with a chrome strip running across the width with the bumper finished in black material. At the sides, there are prominent squarish wheel arches with black cladding, black side pillars and black ORVMs. The tail end constitutes a black panel and a chrome belt which joins the tiny taillamps and a shark fin antenna.
Now even though it is a tiny electric SUV, the interior possesses all the basic functionalities for the occupants. The minimalistic design means that the steering wheel is devoid of any buttons but it gets a flat bottom. The other highlights incorporate a large free-standing touchscreen infotainment display that oozes tech features, while the rotary dials for HVAC, the textured dashboard highlight practicality, basic door panels, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a panoramic sunroof, Wireless charging, keyless entry, 285-litre boot space and more. These are necessary in today’s day and age regardless of the price point of any car.
Regarding the specifications, the Vinfast VF3 gets an 18.64 kWh lithium-ion battery pack which is good for a range of 210 km on a single charge as per the generous NEDC cycle. This will be enough for those who want to use the EV to run daily errands. Moreover, the EV boasts a 32 kW (43.5 PS) electric motor which powers the rear wheels and delivers a decent 110 Nm of maximum torque. Due to the modest dimensions, the acceleration from 0 to 50 km/h takes 5.3 seconds and the fast charging allows 10% to 70% in just 36 minutes. These are all the upcoming Vinfast cars in India in the coming months.
