Kia Syors is the latest entrant from the Korean auto giant in the compact SUV segment in our market
In this post, we are taking a look at the Kia Syros HTK+ variant in terms of exterior styling, interior comfort and the latest tech features. Syros has been making headlines lately for being the most feature-rich and premium vehicle in its segment. It is positioned between the existing Sonet and Seltos in Kia’s portfolio. Kia has attained immense success in our market on the back of its mass-market offerings. With the Syros, the Korean automaker wants to expand its footprint even further. For now, let us take a look at the details of this trim.

Kia Syros HTK+ Variant – Exterior Styling
This video stems from MotorCraze on YouTube. The host has showcased the vehicle thoroughly. He mentions that the Syros HTK+ version gets the flip key with lock, unlock and boot buttons on the key fob. That is in line with what most modern cars offer. At the front, we get to see the sleek bonnet line while the main light setup is positioned on the extreme edges of the bumper. This includes projector and halogen headlamps with integrated turn indicators. Interestingly, the LED DRLs are not functional but get the reflector function. Then there is a rugged black section as the radiator grille and a sturdy skid plate section which accentuates its road presence.
Moving down the sides reveals elegant dual-tone 16-inch alloy wheels which is the highlight. Apart from that, there are functional roof rails, a boxy silhouette, a massive panoramic sunroof, flush-fitting door handles, silver cladding on the side door panels, colossal wheel arches with matte black materials, black A and C-pillars and more. At the rear, the SUV gets a uniquely upright appearance with an almost flat boot door. Other amenities include compact LED taillamps on the edges of the bumper, a solid skid plate underneath the bumper, LED taillamps mounted vertically, a shark fin antenna and an ultra-modern overall look. All in all, the SUV will definitely make heads turn and look unlike any other vehicle in this space.
Kia Syros HTK+ Variant – Interior and Features
Once you move inside the cabin, you will feel the premium quotient and the massive space on offer. The overall layout represents the modern design language and tons of new-age tech. There is a two-spoke steering wheel with multimedia controls, electronically adjustable and foldable ORVMs, dual display – touchscreen infotainment display and driver’s instrument cluster, height adjustable driver’s seat, physical buttons for HVAC, 6-speaker premium audio system, voice commands, crisp graphics on both screens, tyre pressure monitoring system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, high-quality reverse parking camera, USB Type-C ports, central armrest with storage, layered dashboard, soft-touch materials, concealed AC vents on the dashboard, sunglass holder, LED reading lights, sliding rear seats, rear AC vents, sunblinds at the rear, USB ports at the rear, parcel tray for the boot and much more. In essence, despite being a mid-level trim, there is no shortage of the latest features.
Specs
The Kia Syros shares powertrain options with the Sonet but is based on the reinforced K1 platform. There are two engines on offer – a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder turbo petrol and a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder turbo diesel mill which output 120 PS / 172 Nm and 116 PS / 250 Nm of maximum power and torque, respectively. For the HTK+ variant, there are options of choosing between a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DCT automatic gearbox, while the diesel mill is on offer solely with a 6-speed manual transmission in this trim. Still, there are enough alternatives to satisfy the needs of most car buyers. Obviously, if you want the automatic gearbox with the diesel, you will need to opt for some other variant.
Specs | Kia Syros HTK+ |
Engine | 1.0L Turbo Petrol / 1.5L Turbo Diesel |
Power | 120 PS / 116 PS |
Torque | 172 Nm / 250 Nm |

My View
If you want the practicality and convenience of a new-age compact SUV which is quite different from the rivals and don’t want to spend a fortune, the Kia Syros HTK+ variant does the trick. It offers a great balance between affordability and opulence. That makes it one of the most value-for-money trim in the lineup. I would advise our readers to visit their nearest Kia showroom to experience it in the flesh.
