The eVitara is the first electric car from the Japanese car marque
The unofficial bookings for the Maruti eVitara have started. Note that the EV was showcased at the recently concluded Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 in New Delhi. It marks a key chapter in Suzuki’s successful history of being the first EV. Sure, the Japanese car marque might be late to the EV party, but it has come all guns blazing. Also, we will even get a Toyota counterpart of the e Vitara called the Urban Cruiser EV. For now, let us take a look at the details of the electric SUV.
Unofficial Bookings for Maruti eVitara Commence
As per various sources online, some dealers have started accepting a token amount of Rs 25,000 to register unofficial bookings for the upcoming EV. This is a common figure that a lot of carmakers ask for to make a booking for a car in this segment. Anyway, we are not sure about the pricing of the EV just yet. However, judging by its dimensions, it will rival the likes of the Hyundai Creta EV, MG ZS EV, Mahindra XUV400 and Tata Curvv EV. Hence, this segment is heating up for potential car buyers.

Even though the Maruti eVitara has not launched yet, there have been enough announcements regarding most aspects of the specifications. For instance, it will use Suzuki’s new HEARTECT-e platform with eAxle (3-in-1 unit including inverter, motor and transmission).ย There will be two battery pack options – 49 kWh or 61 kWh. Buyers will be able to choose between a single-motor 2WD and dual-motor AWD configuration with power and torque figures ranging from 142 hp / 189 Nm to 172 hp / 189 Nm and 181 hp / 300 Nm (AWD), respectively. It boasts a ground clearance of 180 mm and weighs between 1,702 kg and 1,899 kg. Maruti claims a range of over 500 km on a single charge.
