In this post, we are taking a look at a specially commissioned Maruti S-Presso Golf Cart car. S-Presso is one of the most popular vehicles from the largest carmaker in India. In fact, Maruti exports many cars to other countries from India. As a consequence, this rare S-Presso belongs to Indonesia. In general, people who love to own a car with SUV-ish traits without having to spend a fortune often purchase the S-Presso. However, this is a special instance where the car has been modified for a specific application.

The details of this case stem from otoproject on Instagram. The visuals capture a rather enticing vehicle. We are able to see the front fascia of a regular Maruti S-Presso but everything else has been altered. For instance, the side doors have been removed and instead, we see open spaces with metal rods to protect the occupants. Apart from that, the front section contains protection guards which are also there on the sides. Nevertheless, the biggest change comes at the top. The original roof has been removed and a raised roof has now been installed to increase the in-cabin space.
Going through the description of this post, it becomes clear that this buggy car was created by Suzuki in Bali in collaboration with DSP. In the last 3 months, 5 units of this special edition have been released for tourism. Furthermore, it takes 2 months to manufacture this Maruti Suzuki S-Presso Golf Cart. Also, it costs IDR 235 million (approx. Rs 12.46 lakh). Note that the regular AGS trim retails for IDR 179.9 million (approx. Rs 9.54 lakh). Hence, there is a considerable premium to design this distinct model.
My View
I appreciate when carmakers themselves end up creating unique iterations of their products for specific purposes. This is a perfect example of that. Instead of heading to unreliable aftermarket car modification houses, it is always best to buy a special edition model from the factory. The quality of materials used by the company is always better. In any case, it is great for golf players to use something like this to travel around on the golf course. I shall keep an eye out for more such cases in the future.
