Originally published on 20.01.2025 – The Mahindra XUV700 facelift will be called the 7XO, keeping in line with its latest nomenclature similar to the 3XO. At present, the XUV700 is the flagship ICE model on sale from the Indian automobile giant in our market. It has been a popular product for a long time. However, it is due for a facelift. Interestingly, the facelift model will bear distinct modifications in comparison to the current version not only aesthetically, but in terms of powertrains as well. For now, let us take a look at the details of this case.
Mahindra XUV700 Facelift to be Called 7XO
As per our sources, the new XUV700 will be called 7XO. Furthermore, it will possess the fascia of the XEV 7e which was spotted testing earlier. In fact, a few weeks ago, the trademark for the SUV was leaked which showcased the front fascia. It will include a massive LED light strip which will run the width of the SUV. It will culminate into the 7-shaped LED DRLs on either side. The main LED headlamp cluster will be encapsulated within on the edges of the face. Since it is an EV, there are no grilles at the front. Instead, it gets a completely sealed-off section with rugged elements a skid plate. On the sides, the silhouette is similar to the current version and the case is similar at the rear too. Still, the front fascia will be enough to distinguish the two.
Interior and Features
While the exact details about the specifications are not announced yet, it is clear that it will get that triple-screen layout we saw in the XEV 9e. Apart from that, we know that Mahindra likes to equip its vehicles with the utmost comfort and convenience amenities. Hence, we can expect all the latest bells and whistles to pamper the customers. The quality of materials inside the cabin will be high and the overall appearance will ooze a much more premium vibe, as mentioned by our source.

My View
It is clear that Mahindra is updating the XUV700 thoroughly. However, the fact that we will now even get an electric iteration of the SUV is exciting. People will have all sorts of options to choose from. With the ICE guise, it will most likely retain the powertrains which is not a bad thing at all. Therefore, the Mahindra XUV700 facelift (7XO) will surely be much more enticing in terms of exterior, interior and the option of an electric avatar. Let us keep an eye out for more details as the launch nears.
