Mahindra BE 6 recently became one of the safest cars in the country after securing a full 5-star rating at the Bharat NCAP
This is the first recorded accident of the Mahindra BE 6 online. It involved a crash with the Datsun Go. Mahindra makes some of the highest safety-rated vehicles in our country. That trend has continued with its latest breed of INGLO-based electric SUVs – XEV 9e and BE 6. Both these achieved 5 stars with the former bagging the highest score for any car in the country ever. That is a testament to the care the Indian automobile giant takes while designing its SUVs. On the other hand, the Datsun Go is an entry-level vehicle. Hence, one can’t expect it to carry many safety accolades. Still, let us delve into the details here.
First Accident of Mahindra BE 6
This post stems from Nikhil Rana on YouTube. This channel features content around the performance of vehicles in real-life incidents. In the video, he mentions that this clip was uploaded by thegenywanderer on Instagram. The visuals showcase the two cars after the crash. The front section of the Datsun Go has suffered quite serious damage. On the other hand, the Mahindra BE 6 experienced a minor scratch on the rear bumper. Thankfully, no one was injured in this crash, perhaps because the speed was not too high.
However, the biggest talking point of this case is the fact that after the crash, the vehicles were told to travel to the Police station. While the Go was able to move, the BE 6 didn’t move an inch from its spot. The YouTuber mentions that due to the sensor issue, the electronics didn’t let the vehicle move and it had to be towed away. That is quite surprising and concerning. Despite relatively negligible damage, the vehicle refused to move. That raises the question of whether it is better to have so many electronic components in a car or not.
Mahindra BE 6 Bharat NCAP Score
Mahindra BE 6 scored 31.97 points out of 32 in the Adult Occupant Protection and 45 out of 49 in the Child Occupant Protection category. It comes with 6 airbags, ISOFIX child seat mounts, ESC, Pedestrian protection (AIS-100) and Seatbelt Reminder (AIS0145) as standard. All these factors contributed to a full 5-star rating. Now, it must be understood that real-life driving always demands caution and care. There is no substitute for safe driving. Hence, I would like to advise our readers to encourage everyone around you to follow the traffic regulations at all times.
