The electric mid-size SUV will go up against the likes of the new Maruti e Vitara, Mahindra BE 6, Tata Curvv EV and more
The Hyundai Creta Electric has finally been launched at the ongoing Bharat Mobility Expo 2025. Note that Creta is the most successful mid-size SUV in the country in its ICE version. Aiming to leverage its popularity, the Korean auto giant has launched the electric iteration with almost a similar exterior and interior styling. In essence, the Creta electric simply swaps the IC engine with an electric mill. Having said that, Hyundai has made sure to have enough exterior distinctions and new-age in-cabin amenities to set the two apart. Let us glance at the details here.
Hyundai Creta Electric Launched at Bharat Mobility Expo 2025
From the outside, there are only a few elements which give away its electric credentials. However, most styling components are similar to the ICE guise. At the front, we see a refreshed fascia with sleek LED DRLs along with a connected LED light strip which runs the width of the face, a sealed-off section down below with rugged black materials with vertically oriented LED headlamps on the extreme edges of the bumper and a sturdy skid plate finished in gunmetal. Moving to the sides reveals, new dual-tone aero alloy wheels, black side pillars, black roof and side body skirtings with black wheel arches cladding to enhance the adventurous traits. Finally, at the rear, it gets a shark fin antenna, connected LED taillamps, a black strip on the bumper and a sporty skid plate.

The Hyundai Creta electric is on offer with two battery pack options – 42 kWh and 51.4 kWh. The ARAI-rated range figures for these are 390 km and 473 km on a single charge, respectively. These are decent numbers but the real-life numbers will be slightly lower. Apart from that, the smaller battery version makes 135 PS, while the larger battery enables 171 PS of maximum power and 255 Nm of torque. The electric SUV bears a battery heater for optimal performance during cold weather conditions and maximum charging performance. Using a 100 kW DC fast charger, the battery gets charged from 10% to 80% in a mere 39 minutes while it will take 4 hours to go from 10% to 100% using an 11 kW AC wall box charger. With a 50 kW DC fast charger, the 10% to 80% comes up in just 58 mins. The Active Aero Flaps aid aerodynamics for maximum efficiency and range. Let us see how well the customers embrace it.
