Maruti Dzire boasts the title of being the first Maruti Suzuki car ever to score a full 5-star safety rating at the Global NCAP
The first major crash of the new Maruti Dzire has surfaced and the results are largely positive. Dzire is among the best-selling sedans in the country. It has been around since 2008 in India. Currently sold in its 4th-generation guise, the compact sedan secured a full 5-star safety rating at the Global NCAP recently. While that is a great way to judge the build quality of a vehicle, the real life incidents prove that further. Let us take a look at the details of this latest case.
New Maruti Dzire in First Major Crash
This video clip stems from dineshyadav.4699 on YouTube. The visuals capture the aftermath of destruction. It looks like a high speed crash where the body of the sedan has suffered significant damage. At the front, the bumper, headlamp, grille, fender, bonnet, etc. have been severely affected. As a result of the front collision, the two airbags have opened. Moving at the rear, the condition is even worse. The entire boot compartment has been crushed. One can barely conclude which car it is.
That indicates that the crash either took place at high speed or the other vehicle which probably hit the Dzire from the rear was travelling too fast. In any case, since the impact was not on the sides, the side airbags were not deployed. However, the front two airbags did their job convincingly. The host of this video mentions that the impact didn’t reach the cabin. That is a testament to the safety prowess of the new Maruti Dzire. Having said that, there is no substitute for safe driving. That is something we must always aim for.
Maruti Dzire Global NCAP Report

It gets 6 airbags, a seatbelt pretensioner and loadlimiter for front and rear occupants, ISOFIX child seat mounts for the rear row, seatbelt reminder for front and rear, Electronic Stability Control and GTR 9 โ UN 127 Pedestrian Protection as standard safety equipment. All this confirms the 5-star rating.
