Tata Motors has launched the updated versions of the Tiago, Tiago EV and Tigor compact sedan with minor aesthetic changes and new in-cabin amenities
The 2025 Tata Tigor, Tiago and Tiago EV have been launched in India with a few key updates. Tigor is a compact sedan which was due for an update for a long time. It rivals the likes of the Maruti Dzire, Honda Amaze and Hyundai Aura in India. This is a key market segment which is still putting up a fight despite a strong attack from the SUVs. Note that the Tigor became massively popular in our market after it secured an impressive 4-star safety rating at the Global NCAP a few years ago. Obviously, the protocols have been changed since then. Also, since cars like the Dzire and Amaze have received new-gen avatars, it was time to update the Tigor too. Similarly, the rival the Maruti Swift and Hyundai Grand i10 Nios, the new Tiago has been introduced. Also, its electric iteration has also been launched.
2025 Tata Tigor Launched
There are minor updates on the exterior of the 2025 Tata Tigor. This includes things like a tweaked front grille and bumpers (front and rear) but the 15-inch alloy wheels remain the same. However, the major difference lies in the list of features. Now, there are elements like a smart steering wheel with illumination, a fully digital instrument cluster, new fabric seats, ISOFIX child seat mounts, rear parking sensors, LED taillamp from the base model itself. Then there is a 10.25-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 360-degree camera, shark fin antenna, automatic climate control, leather-wrapped steering wheel, rain sensing wiper and cruise control.
Specs
Even though there are cosmetic alterations and new-age features, what lies under the hood remains the same. It still draws power from a 1.2-litre 3-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol mill which is good for 85 hp and 113 Nm of peak power and torque, respectively. This mill pairs with either a 5-speed manual or an AMT gearbox. In the CNG avatar, this mill outputs a healthy 72 hp and 95 Nm of maximum power and torque. The prices now range from Rs 6 lakh to Rs 8.50 lakh for the petrol and Rs 7.70 lakh to Rs 9.50 lakh for the CNG trims. Note that the base XE trim has now been replaced by XM.

My View
Ever since the arrival of the new Maruti Dzire and Honda Amaze, it was almost mandatory to update the Tigor if Tata Motors wanted to put up any fight at all. Therefore, this facelift would go a long way in ensuring that the Tigor stays in contention going forward. We will catch the facelifted model at the upcoming Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 in days to come along with many other Tata cars. Let us keep an eye out for more details in that regard.
