We get the details of this case courtesy of thetatvaindia and nextdoorindian on Instagram. The visuals capture the accident in real-time. It was reported that this was a practice session before the Dubai Grand Prix which is slated to commence from January 9. The actor’s car was travelling at around 180 km/h when this terrible crash occurred. We can see the vehicle hit the divider at high speed and then immediately spin around a few times before coming to a halt. The medical staff arrived at the scene but the actor escaped unscathed. That is a testament to the safety equipment inside the car.
Ajith Kumar’s racing team commented, “Ajith Kumarโs massive crash in practice, but he walks away unscathed. Another day in the office… thatโs racing!” Not just that, Ajith’s wife also took to social media to express her support for her husband and wrote, “Itโs great to see you back as a racing driver, doing what you love. Wishing you and your team a safe and successful racing career ahead!” Clearly, she is supporting him with all her might. Thankfully, the actor didn’t suffer any injury and is taking this crash in a sporting manner acknowledging that it is a part of racing.
My View
It is commendable how Ajith Kumar has been able to transform his career from acting to racing. We know that he has participated in many professional racing competitions in the past including the National Motorcycle Racing Championship in the 1990s, Formula Maruti Indian Championships in 2002 (he finished 4th), Formula BMW Asia Championship, FIA Formula Two Championship in 2010 and more. Evidently, racing is his passion and he has decided to pursue it going forward. Let us wish him all the success in this chapter of his already successful life.
