Mahindra recently showcased two new electric car sub-brands – XEV and BE. Using the bespoke INGLO architecture, Mahindra will offer multiple coupe EVs under these banners. The first two of the lot are the XEV 9e and BE 6e. While the XEV 9e is based on the existing XUV700, the BE 6e is a totally new product. Let us take a look at the details here.
Driverless Mahindra BE 6e Driving Itself
The specifics of this case emerge from Hmm! on YouTube. The host has the Mahindra BE 6e with him. He wishes to showcase the everyday usage of the EV to the viewers. So, he decided to go to his office amidst heavy Delhi traffic. This is exactly how most people use their cars. Hence, to portray how easy or difficult it is to live with the BE 6e, he has created this video. At the beginning, he highlights the park assist function of the car which can be controlled using the key fob. The EV drives itself without anyone sitting on the driver’s seat. This is a handy function to park in tight spaces. Thereafter, the man takes the EV on his daily route.
During this part, he comes across open stretches of road, as well as dense traffic areas. He says that the vehicle is easy to manoeuvre. The single-pedal driving is a boon which lets you accelerate with one foot and brake when the foot is lifted off the accelerator. Furthermore, in areas where the lanes are properly marked, the ADAS technology steers the car itself. That enhances the overall comfort of the driver. Note that you still need to keep your hand on the steering wheel as a precaution. He even mentions that the seating position is comfortable and the seat is wide. All in all, he is mighty impressed by the coupe electric SUV.
