Only a few cars can match the popularity and dominance in a particular segment like the mighty Hyundai Creta. The C-SUV space has been ruled by the Creta for many years now. First launched in July 2015, the Creta was an instant success. Over the years, we received numerous updates to keep it fresh. Hyundai Creta – Exterior Styling
Now, while we always discuss and highlight the incredible segment-defining features and technology, we often neglect the road presence and styling elements. In fact, I believe for most people, the exterior looks can be the deciding factor for making a purchase decision. Therefore, I would like to shed some light on the enticing exterior components of the new Hyundai Creta. True to Hyundai’s words, the Creta bears a “sharp, modern and progressive” design. This SUV embodies Hyundai’s Global Design Language of ‘Sensuous Sportiness’.
It enjoys a bold stance which is capable of turning heads anywhere it goes. The front fascia is defined by the new radiator grille, which Hyundai calls Parametric Radiator Grill, and an upright hood which demonstrates an imposing road presence and a butch stance. I particularly like the sleek LED strip which runs the width of the vehicle. It neatly culminates into the LED DRLs on either side making it look like a connected light strip. The rugged elements on the grille along with a chunky logo in the middle create a sporty persona. Look closely or you’ll miss the characteristic creases on the bonnet.
The lower section of the front profile consists of an adventurous skid plate section which accentuates the tough demeanour of the mid-size SUV. As is the case with most modern vehicles, the main LED headlamp cluster is located on the extreme edges of the grille. It is a quad-beam LED headlamp with a horizontal LED positioning lamp and DRLs. Not just that, even the tail end wears the modern design philosophy with LED taillights connected via an LED light strip which covers the entire width of the car. This even includes LED turn indicators with sequential function and on the ORVMs. Finally, the high-mounted stop lamp is also an LED unit. Therefore, the Korean auto giant has ensured that the vehicle carries LED lighting everywhere.
Now, let us switch our focus to the side profile. Here, I would like to mention the brilliantly striking 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels. Depending on the variant, these can also be black units. Apart from that, the C-pillar can be painted in either a black or a silver colour. Similarly, encapsulating the essence of the utilitarian SUVs, the Hyundai Creta also possesses integrated roof rails which can be coloured in black or silver paint. That adds to the practicality aspect, as well as aesthetics. Enhancing the premium quotient, it boasts chrome door handles, side sill garnish, a micro roof antenna, red brake calipers and black or body-coloured ORVMs. Hence, the side profile elevates the viewing experience of the onlookers.
Finally, let us delve into the specifics of the rear profile. I must admit I really like the way Hyundai has designed the rear section of the Creta. The roof-mounted spoiler sets the tone while the connected LED light panel fills the tailgate really well. Down below, the butch skid plate highlights the sporty nature and adventurous appearance with a tiny reverse parking light in the middle. The extreme edges of the bumper contain textured reflector lights. This is where the wheel arches with matte black claddings shine. In fact, the door panels also have this cladding. All in all, the new Hyundai Creta certainly carries attractive looks which is a style statement unlike any other rival in this space.
Note that the key element of the exterior appearance of any car is the kind of colours it offers. In recent times, the trend of dual-tone paint schemes has been getting popular. People who prefer a sporty appearance want black roofs which complement the body colour of the car tremendously. Recognizing this, carmakers have started offering that from the factory. Previously, car owners had to head to the aftermarket for such modifications. Also, depending on the special edition models like Knight Edition or N-Line, the aesthetics and colours are modified accordingly.
