The upcoming Kia Syros looks promising with the latest tech and convenience amenities
The Kia Syros has officially been teased by the Korean auto giant via the latest video clip on its social media handles. These visuals reveal a few key details. Kia has been immensely successful in our market ever since its first vehicle, the Seltos in 2019. Thereafter, products like Sonet and Carens attracted loads of new customers, making Kia the fastest to reach 1 million (10 lakh) sales in India in just 59 months. Note that it even offers premium products in our market including the Carnival, EV6 and EV9. It looks like the Syros will belong to the segment between Sonet and Seltos.
Kia Syros Shows Off Many Segment-First Features
The 28-sec-long teaser has been uploaded on the official Kia India channel on YouTube. The visuals capture the key highlight of the exterior – a large panoramic sunroof. Therefore, the sunroof lovers can rejoice. In all honesty, this is one of the larger sunroofs in the segment. Apart from that, we are also able to witness the striking Tri-LED headlamps with vertical elements on the extreme edges of the sporty bumper. In fact, we recently saw something like this on the Kia Carnival Limousine. Hence, it is clear that Kia is opting for a premium exterior.
In addition, even the interior bears modern tech and convenience amenities. This includes a 360-degree camera, a push button start/stop function on the centre console, USB charging slots, wireless charging, ambient lighting, a large free-standing touchscreen infotainment display, unique steering with multimedia controls including Terrain Mode, and audio settings. All in all, even in this teaser video, we are able to get a glimpse of what the upcoming Kia Syros will entail.
My View
Kia is constantly launching new products to expand its footprint in our market. Recognizing the mindset and requirements of the Indian customers, it wants to launch products to capture a large chunk of the market. In line with that, the Kia Syros will be yet another key addition to the portfolio. More details will emerge at the world premiere slated for December 19, 2024.
