Restoring an iconic legend from the past is not an easy task which is why professional experts must be approached
A prominent aftermarket car modification house has restored an old HM Ambassador brilliantly almost to its old glory. The Ambassador has to be the most iconic vehicle in India which started the automobile revolution in India back in the 1980s. However, I must mention that it was first launched in India back in 1957. The vehicle remained in production until 2014, making it among the longest-produced cars in the world. In the last few years, we saw many applications of this legend including for government officials and commercial taxi services in different parts of India. For now, let us take a look at the details of this case.
HM Ambassador Restored
The specifics of this restoration process come to us courtesy of Autorounders on YouTube. This is a popular car shop which has experience of transforming all sorts of cars. Interestingly, the owner of this Ambassador gave a free hand to the automobile modifier for any customization to make it look modern. Hence, the owner of the car shop shortlisted a few ideas and shared them with the owner of the car. Finally, they opted to paint the exterior in BMW XM-inspired metallic green. This unique paint shade compliments the piano black grille, side pillars, bumper, and headlamp and window frames a lot. Apart from that, the black steel wheels look classy as well. The entire exterior has been de-chromed.
On the inside, the design house claims that they have taken inspiration from the BMW XM as well. This majorly translates to the colour combination of tan and green/teal. The seats are in the green colour with comfortable cushioning whereas the door panels, steering wheel, and dashboard bear the dual-tone layout. Even the roof has been wrapped in the brown theme. As the finishing touches, the carpet mats have been refreshed as well. All in all, this has to be among the most subtly restored HM Ambassador I have seen in a while.
My View
Automobile is an emotion in our people. People get attached, especially to their first cars. Hence, they often don’t want to let them go even if they go on to purchase new cars. That is exactly the case here. The owner of this Ambassador also has the Toyota Innova Hycross. Still, he loves to drive this iconic vehicle which is why he got it restored. This represents people’s love for their cars. I shall keep bringing more such cases for our readers in times to come.
