Kia Seltos is among the most successful mid-size SUVs in India with loads of segment-best amenities
The next-generation Kia Seltos was recently spotted ahead of the launch in its domestic market in the coming months. Seltos is arguably the most feature-laden product in its class. The Korean carmaker is the fastest company to reach the milestone of 1 million (10 lakh) sales in India. If we add the exports, this number surges past 1.3 million (13 lakh). Clearly, the automaker understands the mindset of the Indian customers. That is due to the presence of its parent company, the Hyundai Motor Group, in the country for over 26 years. Let us take a look at what we see of the new Seltos.
Next-Generation Kia Seltos to Launch Next Year
The specifics of this case stem from Namascar Motors on YouTube. The video captures the heavily camouflaged SUV plying on the streets of what looks like its native market, South Korea. Despite the covering, we are able to deduce a few design elements. At the front, it bears a new headlight design along with a refreshed fascia. It still gets the radar which confirms ADAS functionalities. On the sides, there are new-age dual-tone alloy wheels which are borrowed from the latest international Kia EVs with chunky wheel arches. Apart from that, we get to witness faux roof rails and black side pillars.
Interestingly, the tail section looks quite broad. However, that is due to the camouflage. We are able to experience sleek LED taillamps with a C-shaped pattern. Perhaps, these will be connected via a sleek LED light bar, a common design component of modern cars. Also, there is a rugged skid plate underneath the rear bumper to enhance sportiness. On the inside, we got a glimpse of the premium upholstery with elegant headrests, chrome/metallic door handles, and a dual-tone interior colour theme. All in all, it will continue to be a vehicle which excels at being an affordable luxury car. More details will surface in the coming weeks.
My View
The next-generation Kia Seltos will be launched in Korea in the coming months after which it will head to the international markets. It remains to be seen when we will experience it in India. To be fair though, the existing model in our market is still relatively fresh. Hence, we don’t need an updated version just yet. Still, it feels nice to know that the next-generation version is on the way.
